Founded in 1997, HR Proactive Inc. is a Compliance Training Company, specializing in Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness Training.

Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) defines a supervisor as anyone who “has charge of a workplace or authority over a worker.” Employers whose workplaces are covered by the OHSA are obligated by law to provide basic health and safety awareness training to their workers and supervisors. This training is designed to help you understand what the OHSA expects from you. There are things you need to know and understand so that you and the people you supervise can be healthy and safe at work today and every day.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training, you should be able to:

Understand the health and safety responsibilities associated with being a supervisor
Describe how they fit into the Internal Responsibility System (IRS) and how the employer, supervisor, and worker cooperate to maintain a safe and healthy workplace
Recognize, assess, control, and evaluate (RACE) hazards in the work environment
Understand sources of Occupational Health & Safety information in your Province or Territory, including workplace health and safety policies and procedures, safety data sheets (SDSs), operating manuals, recommendations of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) and the company’s Health and Safety Representative
Demonstrate the steps needed to be a good role model for other workers in the workplace and be able to explain the importance of following the workplace health and safety policies and procedures
